Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai

Komodo Taekwondo & Martial Arts offers professional boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai training from our fully equipped home training facility. We’ve got everything you need, including a BOB striking dummy, heavy bag, speed bag, various-sized gloves and hand wraps, head gear, boxing pads, kicking pads, toggles, and more.

Our training focuses on agility, power, footwork, and helping you get into the best physical condition possible. Whether you’re training for self-defense, fitness, or competition, you’ll be learning in a comfortable, friendly environment.

We also work around your schedule, tailoring your sessions and training style to whatever suits you best.

Boxing: Boxing is known as the “sweet science” and is one of the most proven and time-tested fighting styles in history. Practiced by millions around the world, boxing focuses entirely on the use of your fists, teaching practical punching techniques designed for maximum power, precision, and effectiveness.

In our boxing program, you’ll learn proper punching mechanics (jab, cross, hook, uppercut), stances and footwork, defensive skills, head movement, and the core fundamentals of defeating an opponent using your hands alone. Whether your goal is self-defense or getting into top physical shape, our training is designed to help you improve quickly and confidently.

Kickboxing:

Kickboxing has a rich history and is often seen as an extension of traditional boxing, with the addition of powerful kicking techniques. Its kicking style is rooted mainly in karate (later adopting a strong Muay Thai influence), while also drawing from kung fu, taekwondo, and other martial arts.

Kickboxing differs from Muay Thai in that it typically does not include elbows, knees, or heavy clinch work—which are core elements of Muay Thai. Instead, kickboxing blends punches with front kicks, side kicks, turning kicks, and more, all designed for speed, power, and fast, effective striking.

It’s a fun and dynamic middle ground between Western boxing and Muay Thai, offering a fast-paced workout that builds technique, strength, and athletic conditioning.

Muay Thai:

Muay Thai, known as “the art of the eight limbs,” originated in Thailand, where it remains the national sport. Though styles can vary in different parts of the world, Muay Thai is widely regarded as one of the most powerful and effective striking arts practiced today.

Muay Thai focuses on punches and devastating power kicks designed to disable an opponent quickly. What sets it apart from many other martial arts is its use of elbows, knees, and clinching—techniques that are often not practiced or even allowed in traditional martial arts competitions.

Training in Muay Thai requires dedication, toughness, and consistent skill development. But when the techniques are executed well, Muay Thai stands as one of the most formidable striking systems in the world.
