Taekwondo & Martial Arts Classes
Komodo Taekwondo & Martial Arts specializes in both ITF & WTF style Taekwondo, along with elements from several other martial arts disciplines integrated into our training curriculum. The six corners of our hexagon logo represent the martial arts that influence our program: Taekwondo, Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Hapkido, and Olympic-style wrestling. Our approach draws from techniques and traditions originating from Korea, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Canada. Our philosophy is simple: use what works, even if it doesn’t fall under a single martial art system.
Komodo Taekwondo & Martial Arts head instructor Jeff Moyer teaches the fun and flashy aspects of martial arts, along with the serious and practical. Martial arts are an art form to be enjoyed and admired—but they’re also designed for real-world self-defence and protecting yourself in life-threatening situations.
Our Taekwondo & Martial Arts program includes but is not limited to the following:
-
Kicking, punching, and striking techniques
-
Grappling, clinching, and joint locks
-
Submissions and escapes
-
Forms (patterns/katas)
-
Weapons training
-
Groundwork
-
Board breaking
-
Martial arts knowledge and trivia
-
Fitness training to improve strength, coordination, flexibility, reaction time, cardio, and mental focus.
Students who train with us have the opportunity to earn their black belt through our TKD/MA ranking system. All testing is done on location, with belts and certificates provided. Uniforms and equipment can be purchased through our club.
We recommend at least 2–3 classes per month for steady progress, but you are free to train as often as you like based on your schedule. Rates vary depending on the number of students (up to a maximum of 4 at one time) and age group.
